#16 Important Terminology in CGD

Some of the most important terminology in CGD are listed below:

  1. AMR – Automatic meter reading – a vehicle fitted with a meter reader can remotely read the household gas meter.
  2. Catchment – The area within which the CNG is available for filling. This could be within a GA authorized to an entity or outside if allowed.
  3. CA – Charge area (area within GA)
  4. CCOE – Chief controller of explosives
  5. PESO – Petroleum explosive and safety organization
  6. CGS – City gas station (a place normally within GA where the CGD company receives natural gas from a transmission or sub-transmission pipeline.
  7. DPRS – District pressure regulating station
  8. DRS – District regulating system
  9. ERDMP – Emergency Response and Disaster Management plan (a regulation notified by PNGRB)
  10. PNGRB – Petroleum & Natural Gas Regulatory Board
  11. GA – Geographical area
  12. IMS – Integrity Management System
  13. MOEF – Ministry of Environment & Forest
  14. MOPNG – Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas
  15. NGV type nozzle – Natural gas vehicle type filling nozzle
  16. OSID – Oil Industries safety directorate
  17. OEM – Original equipment manufacturer
  18. PPAC – Petroleum Planning & Analysis Cell
  19. PUC – Pollution under control
  20. RO – Retail outlet
  21. SCM – Standard cubic meter
  22. MMBTU – Metric Million British Thermal unit
  23. T4S Regulation – Technical Standard Specification including safety standard regulation of the board.
  24. ASME – American Society of Mechanical Engineering
  25. API – Americal Petroleum Institute
